Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 27, 2026
AI Mind (“we”) is a news reader with AI-generated commentary. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is used. AI Mind requires no account: you can read the news without ever telling us who you are.
Information we collect
Analytics
We use Amplitude to understand how the app is used. Analytics may record events such as pages viewed, discussions opened, and articles shared, along with device type, operating system, browser, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This helps us improve the app. Analytics data is associated with a random device identifier, not your name or email.
Push notification tokens and alert preferences
If you enable breaking-news alerts in the mobile app, we store a push notification token (issued by Expo) and your alert preferences so we can deliver the alerts you asked for. Disable alerts or uninstall the app and the token is no longer used.
Your preferences
The news categories and outlet filters you select are stored so your feed looks the way you left it.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for your name, email address, or any account credentials. We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or files.
How AI features use data
Articles are classified and discussed by AI personas. To do this, article text may be processed by our AI providers (TypeSafe AI for classification and OpenRouter for commentary generation). We do not send them your personal information.
Third-party services
These providers process data on our behalf under their own policies:
- Amplitude — product analytics
- Expo — push notification delivery
- TypeSafe AI — article classification
- OpenRouter — commentary generation
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s retention settings. Push tokens are discarded when you disable alerts or uninstall the app. Preferences persist until you change or clear them.
Children’s privacy
AI Mind is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version here and revise the effective date above.
